At 10:40am on June 29, Champions Center of the Grace Church a pipe bomb exploded. Fortunately, no one was in the building at the time when the bomb went off. Another church, the Three Pine Apostolic Church was also found to have another pipe bomb inside of it.
On the evening of July 1st, at 10:00 PM the Three Pine Apostolic Church in DeRidder was burglarized. The police got a description of the vehicle leaving the premises. The police were able to place four suspects in custody ranging ages from 17-21.
The Pastor of the Three Pine Apostolic Church Dan Booth said ”It’s just the day and time we live in. I’m not surprised that anything happens like this, but I guess no place is exempt.”
The four young men suspected in the Three Pine Apostolic Church case are charged with aggravated burglary, theft and manufacture and possession of a bomb. The police believe the two pipe bomb incidents are connected and they continue their investigations.

Randall Thomas Hollifield, 45, a youth volunteer at New Beverly Baptist Church was charged with two counts of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor. The victim was under the age of 13.
Police searched Mr. Hollifield’s house and allegedly uncovered more than 3,000 images on a computer and digital camera at his home, according to an arrest warrant. At least 100 of those images involved a minor engaged in sexual activities.

Eric Perino arrived at the church looking for food and clothing. He found a 62-year-old woman working late. She let Perino inside and allowed him to play the church’s piano and a guitar. Prosecutors said Perino raped the woman at about 11 p.m. Perino faces a maximum of a ten year prison sentence.

Lightning may be to blame for a five-alarm fire that destroyed a Garden City Baptist Church early Sunday morning. Firefighters received the call about the blaze at Garden City Baptist Church on Pine Street near the Georgetown-Horry County line at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The entire church was lost in the fire. The congregation is looking to start rebuilding soon.

A week ago Key Street Church in Macon Georgia had it’s air conditioner stolen for the copper that is inside of it. Authorities say at this time of year, if the thieves steal the entire air conditioner, they are actually using it first before stripping out the copper.

Gallaher Memorial Baptist Church had $680,000 allegedly stolen by the Church Treasurer, Barry Cain. Mr. Cain age 51 served as Church Treasurer from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Cain is in county jail with bond set at $100,000, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrested him that morning on a sealed indictment accusing him of theft. Allegedly, Cain would write $80,000 checks to himself and would use church money to pay personal bills.

Jeffrey Windle has received a fifteen year prison sentence for embezzling $13.4 million dollars from his employer Natick-based Cambium Learning Inc. and $647,000 from his Congregational Church of South Dennis where he volunteered as the church treasurer.

Tabitha Reid visited two other churches Sunday before kidnapping an 11-month-old girl from her own church, Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, where she worked as a volunteer.
Reid also was seen at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE.
The 11-month old child, Savannah Nolf went missing from Kentwood Community Church for about two hours before police found her safe at Reid’s home in the 6700 block of South Division Avenue.
Reid, age 19, allegedly told police that she once gave up a daughter named Savannah for adoption, but retracted, and said she just wanted to be a mom, court records showed.
63rd District Judge Sara Smolenski set her bond at $100,000 for Kidnapping and Unlawful Imprisonment. Kidnapping is potentially a life offense and Unlawful Imprisonment is a 15-year felony.

A church burglary ring is believed to have been busted in Nashville, TN. Several churches in Davidson County Tennessee had been broken into and valuable items stolen.
After the police had apprehended two teenagers, and they confessed to robbing Lighthouse Baptist Church Sunday night.
The police said the teenagers threw a large rock through the office window of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and Christian School where they proceeded to ransack the two offices taking anything of value.

Burglars stole almost $12,000 worth of property from God’s House of Promise Ministries church Tuesday on Kings Highway, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Pastor Dedrick Messenger reported burglars stole a Dell laptop computer, a HP laptop computer, projector, video camera, computer software, $125 cash and a Dell monitor, Officer David Spell reported. The office was ransacked.
